Local Markets Most markets in Mallorca are held in the morning. Try to arrive before 10.30am because many markets are all finished and packed up by 1.30pm. The nearest markets to Puerto Alcudia are (1) in the streets of Alcudia Old Town. It is held on Tuesday and Sunday and (2) a Saturday street market in Playa de Muro, close to the Esperanza Hotel on the main Alcudia - C'an Picafort road. One of the biggest markets on the island is at Inca on Thursday and if you are into markets, then you should try and make the effort to get to it. Another market worth visiting if you have time is the one through the streets of Palma (on the 'Avenidas') on a Saturday morning. Bargains to be had are lace tablecloths and leather handbags, but do try to haggle over the price. Other markets not too far away are at Puerto Pollensa (Wednesday), C'an Picafort (Friday) and Soller (Saturday). BEWARE of pickpockets at markets just as you would back home
