Buses

For years we went to great lengths to list up-to-date bus time tables in some of our publications. However, following comments from many people, and our own personal experiences, we have realised what a waste of time that turned out to be - buses in Mallorca seem to appear when they want to. We have therefore listed only the main bus routes and how often each is upposed to run. But the best advice we can offer is: just sit in the sunshine and wait for the next bus to come along ... it will eventually!

No.1
To Palma and return via Alcudia Old Town, and Inca- every hour (more or less!) in the mornings. The journey from Puerto Alcudia to Inca takes about 45 minutes and then another half an hour to Palma.

No.2
C'an Picafort - Puerto Alcudia - Alcudia - Puerto Pollensa - every 30 minutes. The trip to and from C'an Picafort takes about 30 mins to the Port. And from the Port to Alcudia Old Town is 15 minutes. From the Port to Puerto Polensa is 30 minutes. The bus runs every 15 minutes to Alcudia Old Town on Market days (Tuesday & Sunday)

No.3
C'an Picafort - Puerto Alcudia - Alcudia - Puerto Pollensa - Formentor - Only two buses a day, in the morning and early afternoon. From Alcudia Port to Formentor takes 45 minutes. This service does not operate on Sundays.

No.4
C'an Picafort - Puerto Alcudia - Alcudia - Puerto Pollensa - Pollensa - Lluc - Soller - Puerto de Soller - Only two buses a day. The trip from the Port of Alcudia to the Port of Soller takes about two and a half hours. This service does not operate on Sundays.

No.5
C'an Picafort - Puerto Alcudia - Alcudia - Puerto Pollensa - Pollensa - Lluc - La Calobra - Puerto de Soller - Only one bus a day. This is a real sightseeing trip. It takes an hour and 20 minutes to Lluc where there is a one hour stay while you visit the town and famous monestry. It is another hour from there to la Calobra, but well worht the trip. You will have about four hours in la Calobra before making the return journey (non stop - about two hours 20 mins) This service does not operate on Sundays.
